KMA Interactive Media in York then hired me as their lead programmer & developer to build bespoke Contact Tracking systems using the powerful web-based "application server" approach on which I immediately became hooked.
For KMA's intranets as well as the intranets of their clients, these projects opened my eyes to the concept of delivering sophisticated applications to a remote user-base using established and upcoming web technologies. The ability to deliver brute data-crunching power to users anywhere in the world, even those equipped with just the lowliest of internet terminals, was instantly appealing.
I was also called upon to provide IT training for new staff.
