Timesheet-based "billable hours" approach

As an alternative to providing a fixed price quote, it is far simpler and more flexible if I work on a "billable hours" basis.

With this approach, I keep an accurate account of all hours I spend working for you, and use this to generate my invoices. All invoices are accompanied by a fully itemised breakdown of the work they cover. The invoices are issued as and when it suits us both - one invoice after completion of the whole job, or several throughout the project.

This approach obviously requires a degree of trust on both sides, and there is inevitably a level of uncertainty about the eventual total cost, so I do not insist on working this way with new clients. It does have major advantages for both parties however, not least that the requirements can be honed throughout the project resulting in a better result, often at a lower cost.

UPDATE: As of February 2006, all active clients are able to view fully up to date timesheets of any work I am carrying out for them, at any time convenient to them, by logging in to their client area. The client area also contains archived PDF versions of all invoices that I have issued. Details of how to log in will be provided when I commence working for you.
